Annie Kohut
Ann (Annie) Loventhal Kohut, founder and President of Kohut Communications Consulting, has more than 30 years of communications experience, first as a reporter and since 1983, as a public relations executive. Prior to founding KCC, Annie spent more than 19 years with the Los Angeles and Atlanta offices of Manning, Selvage & Lee (now known as MSLGROUP), one of the world’s largest global public relations firms. In her most recent position there as Senior Vice President in the Atlanta office, she provided strategic guidance to corporate and business-to-business accounts in the agency’s Corporate Practice. During her many years with the firm, she served a wide variety of clients of all sizes, among them:
- Epson America, Inc.

- Georgia Department of Industry, Trade & Tourism (now the Georgia Department of Economic Development)
- The John H. Harland Co.

- Mercer (formerly Mercer Human Resource Consulting)
- Motorola Computer Group
- Peter Norton Computing (prior to its acquisition by Symantec)
- UPS Supply Chain Solutions

… and many, many more.
At KCC, Annie works on an ongoing basis with architecture firm Lord, Aeck & Sargent and healthcare clients of Relish Marketing. In addition, she has undertaken projects for MSLGROUP clients such as the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta and the Georgia Department of Economic Development and has worked for marketing research firm CMI, law firm Burr & Forman LLP and HR consulting firm Mercer. For six years, Annie provided volunteer public relations services to the Greater Atlanta Hadassah chapter of Hadassah and was honored in 2007 as the chapter's Woman of Achievement.
As an independent practitioner, Annie received a 2004 Phoenix Award from the Public Relations Society of America’s Georgia Chapter, in the category of business-to-business media relations for professional and/or financial services firms. During her career, her work also has earned her several awards for outstanding PR materials and programs from the Public Relations Society of America, Los Angeles Chapter; the International Association of Business Communicators, Atlanta Chapter; and Editorial Media and Marketing International (now known as The Holmes Group).
Over her career, Annie has written or appeared in several articles about public relations, including a "how to" column that she authored for a Manning, Selvage & Lee quarterly employee newsletter. In August 2005, she was featured in an interview titled, "PR Tips from Two Pros," which appears on the ArchNewsNow.com web site.
Before joining Manning Selvage & Lee in 1983, Annie spent three years as a business reporter for Electronic News, where she covered Southern California’s computer hardware and software companies. Previously she worked in the business research libraries of the Los Angeles office of Korn/Ferry International and the Chicago office of McKinsey & Company, Inc.
Annie holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from California State University, Northridge, and both a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in library science from the University of Illinois.
